The top-ranked Louisiana Ragin Cajun baseball teamreturns to the diamond on Friday night, as coach Tony Robichaux’s squad plays host to the UALR Trojans in the opening game of a three-game, weekend, league series at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field.

Game times are scheduled for 6 pm Friday, 6 o'clock on Saturday and 1 pm on Sunday. Catch all the games on the radio, as they can be heard on 96.5 KPEL-FM & kpel965.com.

Louisiana (31-4, 9-1) has won 31 of their last 34 games, including sweeping a Sun Belt Conference series against the Troy Trojans last weekend, and splitting non-conference games against UNO (loss) and McNeese St. (win) during the mid-week.

UALR (16-13, 4-4) won a non-conference game against the Oklahoma St. Cowboys (7-6) this week, after winning in two of three games against the Georgia St. Panthers last weekend in league action.

The Cajuns are hitting .325 as a team, which places them first in the league going into the series, to go along with 45 home runs, 278 runs batted in, and 56 stolen bases, which all lead the conference.

Outfielder Caleb Adams (.396-7-23) leads the team, and the conference in hitting, with second baseman Jace Conrad (.379-6-39), and outfielder Seth Harrison (.365-8-38), and third baseman Ryan Leonards (.350-4-22) right behind, with all ranking in the top ten of the league.

The Trojans are currently hitting a .259, which ranks seventh in the league, with 25 homers, 149 RBI’s, and 37 stolen bases.

Pitching-wise, Louisiana ranks first in the league, with a 3.26 team ERA., while UALR ranks second, at a 3.42.

The Cajuns feature Carson Baranik (7-0, 2.65) and Austin Robichaux (4-2, 2.92), who rank second and sixth in the league, respectively, in terms of ERA. Robichaux will get the start on Friday night, with Baranik getting the call on Saturday, while Cody Boutte (4-0, 3.78) gets the Sunday start.

The Trojans, will counter with senior left-hander Travis McDonald (2-3, 3.93) on Friday, sophomore right-hander Sam Thoele (0-1, 0.89) on Saturday, and junior right-hander Cameron Allen (3-2, 3.60) on Sunday.

Louisiana leads the all-time series, 47-13.
