Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun baseball team is up one spot, to number six, in this week’s Baseball America Top 25 Poll.

Louisiana went 3-0 last week, sweeping a three-game, weekend, non-conference series from the Texas Southern Tigers at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field over the weekend.

For the Cajuns, it's the second-highest ranking in program history, bested only by a number four ranking back in 2000.

Louisiana, who is 13-2 on the season, is on the road on Tuesday evening, to take on the Tulane Green Wave, before opening up Sun Belt Conference play this weekend, in Monroe against the ULM Warhawks..

The LSU Tigers, who went 5-0 last week, including non-conference, single game wins, over Sacred Heart and Northwestern St., as well as a three-game, non-conference sweep over Purdue over the weekend, is up one spot, to number eight in the poll.

LSU, now 14-2, will host Nicholls St. and Southern in non-conference play on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, before opening up SEC play in Nashville, Tennessee against the Vanderbilt Commodores this weekend, in a match-up of two top ten squads.

South Carolina is the new the top-ranked team this week, followed by Florida St., Virginia, Oregon St., and North Carolina St. in the top five.

Louisiana, Vanderbilt, LSU, Cal State Fullerton, and Texas are ranked 6-10, respectively.

Cal Poly, Oregon, Miami (Florida), Clemson, and Rice are in spots 11-15, with Indiana, Louisville, Sam Houston St., North Carolina, and Kentucky coming in at 16-20.

Finally, at spots 21-25, it’s Ole Miss, Tennessee, UC Santa Barbara, Mississippi St., and UCLA.
