The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is going to be cutting more money from it 2011-12 budget to the tune of 3.3 million bucks.

The state of Louisiana is again facing expected shortfalls in the budget so n0w UL Lafayette will have to look at cutting close to 3 and 1/2 million dollars out of th budget.  Louisiana higher education officials announced that another 50 million dollars would have to made to their budget, and so it goes that effect is for it to trickle down again to Lafyaette.

This is the fourth year in a row for cuts according to UL Lafayette President Jos Savoie, and the university already implemented a round of cuts this year.  Savoie says cuts will for the most part affect three different areas including acquisitions, centers and athletics.

President Savoie says the university does not plan on making cuts to faculty or dropping any classes.
