Dr. William Hochkeppel, Band Director at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette joined 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' today to invite our listeners to enjoy a night of great jazz with a Grammy and Emmy winner.  This Saturday night Dr. Hochkeppler said,

The audience will experience some great music as the UL Jazz Ensemble will perform with jazz great Gordon Goodwin.  People may not recognize the name but Gordon Goodwin and his Big PHAT Band have produced some of this century's best music for movies.  With 14 nominations and 3 wins, Gordon Goodwin and his Big PHAT Band are THE hot band in Los Angeles.

In addition to performing with the Jazz Ensemble Hochkeppler said,

Gordon will invite musicians from four high schools on stage to observe him working with the Jazz Ensemble.  In addition the four high school groups will each get a one hour clinic with him.

In addition to a great night of music on Saturday Dr. Hochkeppler said,

The performance will be a great value, UL students and faculty get in free and general admission tickets are just $10.  Tickets will be available at the door at UL's Angelle Hall.  The performance starts at 7:30pm.  If you can't make the show Saturday night you can attend the rehearsal Friday from 7 until 10pm and that's absolutely free.
