Veterans from throughout Acadiana have the opportunity to take free preparatory classes at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette through the Veterans Upward Bound Program.

Samuel Brannen, who joined "Nathan & Bernie in the Morning" Wednesday, said veterans of any age can sign up for classes on computer literacy, English, Spanish, French, math, general sciences, and Internet.

Classes start Monday, Jan. 26 and are held in F.G. Mouton Hall. Veterans will need to provide a copy of their discharge paperwork, known as the DD214.

Upward Bound also provides other services for veterans, such as help finding a job.

To sign up for classes, call (337) 482-5818.
