The Louisiana Ragin' Cajun football team will be down one linebacker the rest of the 2017 season.


A redshirt freshman from Newton, Texas, Holmes was Louisiana's opening-game starter at the Will inside linebacker position against Southeastern Louisiana, recording 6 tackles, including 4 solo stops, and a half-tackle for a loss, before being injured.

The 6-foot-1, 225-pound Holmes only saw limited action against Tulsa on Saturday, and did not record a tackle.

Holmes with credited with one tackle early on in the 2016 season, before missing the remainder of the season with a knee injury.
