UL Marching Band To Appear In Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade

The UL Marching Band has been chosen as one of ten bands to perform in the 86th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade. Today on ‘Mornings With Ken and Bernie‘ UL Marching Band Director Dr. Brian Taylor said Macy’s only selects 10 bands from across the nation each year and UL is very honored to be chosen. Since the band is required to play at a UL football game the Saturday before the parade and another game two days after the parade the band will travel by charter plane. According to Taylor,
The cost of the trip will be approximately $426,000 so a major fundraising effort is underway. Each student will have to raise $1600 to pay for the trip. Anyone wishing to help a student or the band with a contribution can contact me through the UL Band website with the “contact us” link.
