Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun softball team is down, two spots, to number nine, in this week’s college softball RPI (ratings performance index) rankings, which were released by the NCAA on Monday.

Louisiana, who has won 9-straight games, and 11 of their last 12, swept a Sun Belt Conference doubleheader from Appalachian St. last weekend, to improve to 34-5, overall, and 17-3 in league play.

Three schools from the SEC, Florida, LSU, and Auburn are ranked 1-3, with Michigan,  and Alabama. rounding out the top five.

Oregon is number six, followed by UCLA, Florida St., Louisiana, and Tennessee at 7-10, respectively.

Missouri begins the second ten, at number 11, with Arizona, Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Notre Dame in spots 12-15.

At 16-20, it’s Arizona St., James Madison, Minnesota, California, and Georgia.

UCF, Baylor, Washington, Kansas, and Hofstra round out the top 25 of this week’s RPI rankings.

The respective RPI’s for the eight Sun Belt Conference schools has Louisiana (9th overall) first, with South Alabama (27th overall) second, followed  by Georgia St. (40th overall), Troy (58th overall), Texas St. (61st overall), ULM (77th overall), UT-Arlington (119th overall), Georgia Southern (136th overall), and Appalachian St. (162nd overall).
