The 20th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team wrapped-up play in the 2014 Ragin' Cajuns Invitational on Sunday at Lamson Park, defeating the Central Arkansas Bears, 5-0.

With the victory, Louisiana concluded the tournament with a 4-1 record, with wins over Michigan, Valparaiso, Memphis, and Central Arkansas, with their only loss coming at the hands of Michigan.

The Cajuns scored first, when designated player Sara Corbello blasted a solo home run in the top of the second inning, giving them a 1-0 lead.

UL added another run in the top of the third, when shortstop Corin Voinche walked, and later, Cassidy White, who was running for Voinche, scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of outfielder Hayley Hayden, extending the lead to 2-0.

The score stayed that way until the top of the sixth, when Sarah Arceneaux, who was pinch-hitting, belted a two-run homer, to make it 4-0, Louisiana.

The Cajuns added an insurance run in their half of the seventh, which was more than enough, as they went on to the 5-0 shutout win.

Second baseman Natalie Fernandez was the only Louisiana hitter to have a multi-hit game, going 3-for-4.

Jordan Wallace (3-1) recorded the win for the Cajuns, tossing a two-hit shutout, while Ciara Clampitt (1-3) suffered the loss for the Bears.

With the win, Louisiana improved to 6-3-1 on the year, while Central Arkansas fell to 3-7.

The Cajuns return to action next weekend, when they travel to Clearwater, Florida to take part in the NFCA Leadoff Classic.
