The 15th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team wrapped-up play in the 27th Annual Louisiana Classics Softball Tournament on Sunday, capturing a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over the Texas St. Bobcats, at Lamson Park.

Louisiana got on the board first, as senior shortstop Nerissa Myers singled and later scored on an RBI ground out off the bat of senior catcher Sarah Draheim, giving them a quick 1-0 lead.

Texas St. tied it, with an unearned run in the second, and then took a 2-1 lead with another unearned run in the fifth inning.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Cajun were down to an out, with nobody on base, when Bobcat pitcher Anne Marie Taylor suffered some type of leg injury, forcing her to leave the game.

Louisiana took advantage, as reliever Rayne House walked Draheim, a walk which was actually credited to Taylor, before issuing a walk to Matte Haack, to put runners at first and second with two out.

Freshman left-fielder Shellie then delivered a clutch single up-the-middle, scoring pinch runner Cassidy White, who was running for Draheim, tying the game, 2-2.

Freshman Sara Corbello then walked off reliever Samantha Wright, the third Bobcat pitcher of the game, and of the inning, loading the bases.

With second baseman Samantha Walsh at the plate, Wright was called for an illegal pitch, bringing her hand to her mouth, and then not wiping it off before touching the ball. That illegal pitch allowed Haack to cross the plate, giving the Cajuns the dramatic win.

Landry led the Cajuns at the plate, collecting two hits, to go along with the game-tying RBI.

Sophomore Jordan Wallace recorded the win in the circle, allowing six hits, and two unearned runs, while walking three, and striking out eight, en route to her fourth win of the year against no defeats, while House suffered the loss, dropping to 0-2 on the year.

With the win, their sixth-straight, Louisiana improved to 7-1 on the seaosn, while Texas St. dropped to 2-6.

The Cajuns return to action on Wednesday, when they travel to take on McNeese St.
