The 13th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team dropped fell in their second game of the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic on Friday, falling to the fifth-ranked Texas A&M Aggies, 6-4, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, on Friday.

Louisiana jumped out to an early 2-0 in the first inning, as third baseman Natalie Fernandez singled, before outfielder Brianna Cherry homered.

Texas A&M tied it, scoring two run on only one hit in the bottom half of the inning.

The score stayed, 2-2, until the fifth inning, when outfielder Shellie Landry drove home outfielder Leandra Mally and Fernandez, giving the Cajuns a 4-2 lead.

The Aggies got closer in the bottom of the fifth inning, as catcher Nicole Morgan belted a solo home run, making it 4-3.

Texas A&M then pushed across three run in the bottom of the sixth, highlighted by a two-run homer by second baseman Jenna Clark, giving the Aggies a 6-4 advantage, a lead which they would not relinquish.

Mel Dumezich (13-0) recorded the win for Texas A&M, while Jordan Wallace (8-2) suffered the loss for Louisiana.

With the win, the Aggies stay perfect on the year, at 19-0, while  the Cajuns fell to 14-3.

Louisiana will play twice in the tournament of Saturday, taking on Texas at 1:30 pm, before squaring off with the College of Charleston at 6 pm.
