The 22nd-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team dropped a pair of game on Saturday, getting swept by the South Alabama Jaguars in a Sun Belt Conference doubleheader in Mobile, Alabama.

South Alabama won the first game of the twinbill, 7-3, before winning the nightcap, 8-4, to clinch the series win in the three-game, weekend, series.

In the opener, Louisiana scored first, as Sarah Draheim belted a two-run homer in the top half of the third inning, giving them a 2-0 advantage.

The Jaguars struck right back, as Brittany Fowler blasted a grand slam home run in the bottom half of the inning, giving them a 4-2 lead.

The Cajuns closed the gap to 4-3 with a run in the top half of the fifth, before South Alabama put the game away on a three-run homer by Haley Fagan, extending it's lead to 7-3, as they went on to the four-run victory.

Hannah Campbell (10-4) picked-up the win for the Jaguars, while Jordan Wallace (10-6) suffered the loss for Louisiana.

Just like in the opener, the Cajuns grabbed the lead in the second game, scoring a run in the top half of the first inning, before South Alabama came right back, plating two runs on a two-run homer by Fowler, to take a 2-1 edge.

Louisiana took the lead right back in the top of the second inning, as Draheim doubled home two runs, to make the score, 3-2, UL, before the Jaguars responded with a run of their own in the bottom half of the frame, knotting the game at 3-3.

The Cajuns grabbed another lead in the top of the fourth, as Samantha Walsh hit a solo home run, making the score 4-3.

As they did the entire game however, South Alabama responded with a run of their own in the bottom half of the inning, before grabbing the lead in the fifth with another run, and then scoring three more in the sixth, to round out the scoring.

Fowler, who had seven RBI's on the day, was 4-for-4 in the second game, with a homer, and three RBI's.

Farish Beard (10-0) recorded the win for the Jaguars, while Victoria Brown (4-1) was credited with the loss for the Cajuns.

With the two wins, South Alabama improved to 23-4 overall, and 2-0 in Sun Belt Conference play, while Louisiana fell to 18-12 overall, and 1-4 in league play.

The two teams will wrap-up their three-game series with a single game on Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock.
