The 23rd-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team swept a non-conference doubleheader from 13th-ranked Oklahoma on Saturday, defeating the Sooners by scores of 7-0 and 3-1 at Lamson Park.

In the first game, Louisiana scored two runs in the third inning, and five in the fourth, and out-hit Oklahoma, 10-1, to go on to the 7-0 shutout win.

Catcher Lexie Elkins and first baseman Kelsey Vincent each collected two hits, and two RBI's to lead the way for the Cajuns, offensively.

Christina Hamilton (7-1) picked-up the win, tossing a complete game, one-hit shutout, while walking only one and striking out six.

Kelsey Stevens (12-4) suffered the loss for the Sooners, lasting only 2.1 innings, and allowing three hits, three walks, and two runs.

In the nightcap, Louisiana scored one in the third, and two more in the fourth, while Oklahoma scored their only run in the game, and of the day, in the sixth, as UL hung on for the two-run win to complete the sweep.

Second baseman Natalie Fernandez collected three hits in the second game, while outfielder Hayley Hayden had two hits, while driving in two runs, as the Cajuns out-hit the Sooners, 8-4.

Hamilton (8-1) got the win in game two as well, tossing a complete game four-hitter, allowing one hit and a walk, while fanning four.

In 14  innings on the day, Hamilton allowed only five hits and one run.

Stevens (12-5) was tagged with the loss for Oklahoma, allowing eight hits and three runs in six innings.

With the victory, and the sweep, the Cajuns improved to 17-6-1 on the year, while the Sooners fell to 18-8.

Louisiana returns to action on Wednesday, when they host Sam Houston St. in a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 4 pm.
