The 20th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team returns to the diamond on Wednesday, when they travel to Houston, Texas, to take on the Houston Cougars at 6:00.

Louisiana, who is currently riding a seven-game win streak, has won 14 of their last 15, and currently stands at 22-6-1 on the season.

Houston has won four-consecutive games, and six of their last seven, and are 16-10, overall.

The Cajuns are currently hitting a .303 as a team, along with 46 home runs, 46 runs batted in, and 18 stolen bases.

Louisiana is led, offensively, by senior second baseman Natalie Fernandez, who is currently hitting a .517, with a .613 on-base-percentage, along with freshman outfielder Haley Hayden, who leads the team in both homers (10) and RBI's (35).

The Cougars are currently hitting a .297 with 23 homers, 127 RBI's, and 33 stolen bases.

Houston, offensively, is paced by junior outfielder Tiffani McKnight and sophomore outfielder Katie St. Pierre, who are hitting a .394 and a .385, respectively.

Pitching-wise, the Cajuns bring in an overall team earned run average of 3.33 into the twinbill, with the Cougars are currently at a 3.29.

Junior right-hander Christina Hamilton has been the ace for Louisiana this year, compiling an 11-1 record, along with a 1.07 ERA., while senior right-hander Deidre Outon leads  Houston, at 7-5, with a 2.17 ERA.

The Cajuns hold a 16-6 lead in the all-time series against the Cougars, dating back to March 3, 2001.

First-pitch is scheduled for 6 o'clock.
