Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun softball team unveiled their 2014 softball schedule on Wednesday, which will be highlighted be visits from perennial powers Texas, Michigan, and Oklahoma.

Coach Michael Lotief's squad will open up their 2014 season at home, hosting the 28th Annual Louisiana Classic, February 7-9 at Lamson Park, in a season-opening tournament that will feature Louisiana, Texas, North Carolina, Purdue, and Louisiana Tech. over the weekend, the Cajuns will play Texas, twice, and Purdue and North Carolina one game each.

The following weekend, February 14-16, Louisiana will play host to a Ragin' Cajun Invite tournament field that will include UL, Michigan, Memphis, Valparaiso, Central Arkansas, and Boston College. In that event, the Cajuns will face Michigan twice, and Valparaiso, Memphis, and Central Arkansas one game each.

The Cajuns hit the road for the first time over the next two weekends, taking part in the NFCA Leadoff Classic, February 21-23, in Clearwater, Florida, and the Gulfport College Classic, February 28-March 2, in Gulfport, Mississippi, in a tournament that will feature UL, Mississippi State, Baylor, South Alabama, Virginia Tech and Memphis.

The Oklahoma Sooners, the defending national champions will come to town for a three-game, weekend, non-conference series on March 15-16, before conference play begins the following weekend, March 22-23, in Atlanta, Georgia, against Georgia St.

In non-conference, non-tournament play, Louisiana will host Oklahoma, McNeese St., Sam Houston St., and Nicholls St., while traveling to meet Houston, Northwestern St., and Baylor.

In Sun Belt Conference in 2014, the Cajuns will host Texas St., South Alabama, and ULM, while traveling to meet Georgia St., WKU, Troy, and Texas-Arlington.

Louisiana will also play host to the 2014 Sun Belt Conference Postseason Tournament, May 7-10.

The Cajuns, who host the USSSA Pride on Sunday at Lamson Park in the fall opener,  appeared in an NCAA Super Regional for the second-consecutive year last season, finishing with an overall record of 47-15. That Super Regional appearance was also their third in the last four years, and their fourth in the last six years.
