UL Softball’s Brittany Holland Itching To Return

It looks as though an injured UL softball player is getting closer to returning to action.

Holland had knee surgery in late February, to correct an injury that she suffered on opening weekend.

All signs now point toward Holland being ready to go on opening day in 2019, and that's great news, as she could be an impact player for the Cajuns.

In only three games in 2018 prior to her injury, Holland accumulated 4 hits in 7 at-bats, while scoring twice, and driving in three runs.

A native of Gilbert, Arizona, Holland, who will get a medical redshirt, and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining, could be a key contributor next season, providing the Cajuns with a much needed power bat in the middle of the order.

Holland, who played one season at Central Arizona College, was named an NJCAA first team All-American following the 2017 season, after hitting a .471, to go along with 15 home runs and 81 runs batted in.

Holland's father, Brad, who is currently a scout in the Philadelphia Phillies organization, played college baseball at McNeese St. under Tony Robichaux, who is now the head baseball coach at UL.
