Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun women's basketball picked-up a big non-conference win on Friday afternoon, defeating the Arkansas Razorbacks, 67-59 in the first day of play in the San Juan Shootout in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The win marks the second victory over an SEC team this season for Louisiana, who defeated Ole Miss, 82-78, back on November 15.

Trailing, 50-46. after three quarters, UL outscored Arkansas, 21-9, in the final frame, to help them capture the big win.

Due to a glitch at the event, no official stats. or box score, is available, but Keke Veal and Kia Wilridge are believed to have finished as the leading scorers for the Cajuns. Officially, Veal had 10 points in the first half, while Wilridge had 9.

In a losing cause for the Razorbacks, Jessica Jacallykson scored 22 points, while Kelsey Brooks added 16.

With the victory, Louisiana improved to 3-1 on the young season, while Arkansas fell to 2-3.

The Cajuns conclude play in the event on Saturday, when they face Sacred Heart at 11:15 am.
