Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns women’s basketball team concluded their non-conference schedule on Sunday, defeating the Southeastern Louisiana Lady Lions, 66-53, at the Cajundome.

Louisiana led at halftime, 26-20, and then went on to the 13-point win, their third-consecutive win.

The Lady Lions out-shot the Cajuns, 36%-30%, but Louisiana finished with a 41-39 rebound advantage, and also forced 25 turnovers.

Keke Veal led the way for UL, scoring 18 points, while Braile Fields added 11.

In a losing cause for Southeastern Louisiana, Nanna Pool scored 22 points, and also pulled down 12 rebounds.

With the victory, Louisiana improved to 7-4 on the young season, while Southeastern Louisiana dropped to 1-11.

The Cajuns begin Sun Belt Conference play on Saturday, when they travel to take on the ULM Warhawks.
