Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun women’s basketball team fell on the road in Sun Belt Conference action on Saturday, dropping a 87-65 decision to the Arkansas St. Red Wolves in their 2014-2015 regular season finale in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

With the win, Arkansas St. completes a two-game series sweep, after defeating Louisiana, 67-41, back on December 30, in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The Cajuns trailed by only one point, 11-10, at the 13:41 mark of the first half, but the Red Wolves out-scored UL, 35-22 the rest of the half, and eventually took a 46-32 advantage into the locker room at halftime.

Arkansas St. out-shot Louisiana, 58%-41%, while also out-rebounding the Cajuns, 18-14, over the first 20 minutes.

Khadija Brown-Hawood  the way for the Red Wolves in the first half, scoring 10 points, while Keke Veal had 6 points at the break for the Cajuns.

The Red Wolves never looked back in the second half, as they went on to the 22-point victory, handing Louisiana only their their sixth loss in their last 16 games.

Arkansas St. out-shot Louisiana from the field, 54%-39%, while also finishing with a 38-33 rebound advantage.

Jasmine Hunt the way for the Red Wolves, finishing with 21 points and 7 rebounds, while Brown-Haywood added 18 points and 9 rebounds.

In a losing cause for the Cajuns, Veal finished with 16 points and two rebounds, while Gabby Alexander chipped in with 13 points and 8 rebounds.

With the victory, Arkansas St. improved to 21-9, overall, and 16-4 in Sun Belt Conference play, while Louisiana, dropped to 18-11, overall, and 10-10, respectively.

The Cajuns return to action on Wednesday, in the opening round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in New Orleans.

Louisiana will be the #6 seed in the tournament and will take on third-seeded Troy on Wednesday night.
