Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns women’s basketball team fell on the road in Sun Belt Conference action on Saturday, dropping an 87-75 decision to the Troy Trojans in Troy, Alabama.

The win snapped Louisiana's two-game win streak, as well as their two-game Sun Belt Conference road win-streak.

With the win, Troy snaps a eight-game losing streak, while securing their first conference win of the year.

In a first half where Louisiana didn't shoot the basketball well, the Cajuns held a 16-15 lead at the 8:17 mark of the period. That's when Troy went on a 12-0 run over the next 2:32, and held a 27-16 lead with 5:45 remaining in the half.

The Trojans were able to maintain that 11-point lead throughout the final 5:45 of the half, and took a 38-27 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Troy out-shot Louisiana from the floor in the first half, 53%-22%, while holding down a 27-22 rebound advantage.

Joanna Harden, the conference's leading scorer, led the Trojans in scoring in the first half, pouring in 15 points.

For UL, Sylvana Okde was the leading scorer at the break, with 9 points, while Brooklyn Arceneaux had 8.

Louisiana got to within ten points of Troy, 52-42 at the 10:21 mark, but that's when the Trojans outscored UL, 22-11 over the next 5:30, extending  their lead to a game-high 21 points, 74-53, at the 4:51

The Cajuns went on a late 9-0 run near the end of the game, but it was too little, too late, as the Trojans hung on for the 12-point win.

Troy finished the game out-shooting Louisiana from the floor, 54%-29%, and also finished with a 49-39 rebound advantage.

Harden led the way for the Trojans, scoring a game-high 28, while Ronita Garrett pulled down nine rebounds.

In a losing cause for Louisiana, Okde finished with 22 points, while Arceneaux had 18, along with a game-high 11 rebounds.

With the victory, Troy improved to 5-12, overall, and 1-5 in Sun Belt Conference play, while Louisiana dropped to 10-6, overall, and 3-2 in league play.

The Cajuns return to action on Thursday, when they host Georgia St. in Sun Belt Conference play.
