Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun women’s basketball team is back in action on Saturday afternoon, when coach Garry Brodhead’s squad plays host to the Troy Trojans in a  Sun Belt Conference affair.

Tip-off time is scheduled for 5 o'clock, and you can hear the game on ESPN 1420 & espn1420.com, beginning with the pregame show at 4:45 pm.

The game, will mark the first conference home game of the year for the Cajuns, will be the opening game of a day/night, women's/men's doubleheader, with the UL men taking on Troy about 35 minutes after.

Louisiana, who fell to UALR in their conference opener on Tuesday night, is 8-2, overall, and 0-1 in league play, while Troy, who lost to Texas St., 74-72, on Tuesday, is currently 5-5, and 0-1, respectively.

The Cajuns are outscoring the opposition, 61.7/56.7, while being out-shot by foes from the floor, 40.0%/37.8%, and out-rebounded 36.9/36.2.

UL is paced by sophomore guard Jaylin Gordon, who leads the team in scoring, at 15.0 points-per-game, and junior guard Kia Wilridge, who is second on the team in scoring, rebounding, and assists at 13.0, 4.9, and 2.9, respectively.

The Trojans are being outscored by the opposition, 73.0/72.9, while being out-shot by foes, 42.9%/38.3%, and out-rebounded, 45.6/43.3.

Troy is paced by junior guard Ashley Beverly-Kelley, who is averaging 15.1 points, to go along with 5.1 rebounds a contest, and senior forward Ronita Garrett, who is averaging 14.6 points and a team-high 10.5 rebounds-per-game.

The all-time series is tied, 7-7, with the two squads splitting the two match-ups last season.
