Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun women’s basketball team is back in action on Friday afternoon, when coach Garry Brodhead’s takes on the Arkansas St. Red Wolves in the semifinal round of the Sun Belt Conference Women’s Basketball Championship in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Tip-off time at Lakefront Arena is scheduled for 2 o'clock, and you can hear all the play-by-play action on ESPN 1420 & espn1420.com, beginning with the pregame show at 1:45 pm.

Louisiana is the six-seed in the tournament, while Arkansas St. is the #2-seed

Louisiana, who has won 11 of their last 18, defeated third-seeded Troy, 66-52, in opening round play on Wednesday night, to improve to 19-11 on the season, while Arkansas St., who eliminated Appalachian St., 67-52, on Wednesday, is currently 22-9.

The winner moves on to the championship game on Saturday night against either UALR or Texas St.

The Cajuns are out-scoring the opposition, 62.1/59.0, while being out-shot by foes from the floor, 41.8%/36.6%, and out-rebounded, 37.9/36.9.

Louisiana is paced by junior guard Keke Veal, who leads the team in scoring, at 14.0 points-per-game, and assists, at 3.3, along with sophomore Jaylin Gordon, who is second on the team in scoring, at 13.7 points a contest.

The Red Wolves are out-scoring the opposition, 71.9/64.2, while out-shooting foes from the floor, 44.8%/41.2%, and holding down a 36.9/36.6 rebound advantage.

Arkansas St. is paced junior guard Aundrea Gamble, who is averaging 19.1 points and 5.1 rebounds-per-game, and junior guard Khadija Brown-Haywood, who is averaging 11.7 points and 5.9 rebounds a contest.

The two teams split the two regular season meetings this season, with the Cajuns winning, 69-57, in Lafayette, and the Red Wolves winning, 87-65, in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
