Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun women’s basketball team returns to action on Sunday afternoon, when coach Garry Brodhead’s squad travels to Houston, Texas to take on the Houston Cougars in a non-conference tilt.

Tipoff time at Hofheinz Pavilion is set for 2 o’clock, and you can hear all the play-by-play action on ESPN 1420 & espn1420.com, beginning with the pregame show at 1:45 pm.

Louisiana, who defeated Southern-New Orleans, 81-28, in their home opener on Thursday night, is 2-0 on the young season, while Houston, who fell to Long Beach St., 47-41, on Thursday night, will enter the match-up at 0-2.

The Cajuns are outscoring the opposition, 81.5/53.0, while outshootting them, 45%/34%, and outrebounding them, 46.0/37.5.

Louisiana is led by junior guard Jaylyn Gordon, who is averaging 19.0 points, to go along with 5.0 rebounds-per-game.

UL also features senior guard Keke Veal, who is averaging 15.5 and 4.5 rebounds a contest.

Houston is being outscored by the opposition, 51.0/45.5, while outshooting opponents, 32%/30%,and holding a slim 37.0/34.0 rebounding edge.

The Cougars are led by senior guard Alecia Smith, who is averaging 9 points and 4 rebounds a contest.
