Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun women’s basketball team is back in action on Monday afternoon, when coach Garry Brodhead’s squad travels to Boone, North Carolina to take on the Appalachian St. Mountaineers in a Sun Belt Conference affair.

Tip-off time is scheduled for 4 o’clock, and you can hear the game on ESPN 1420 & espn1420.com, beginning with the pregame show at 3:45 pm.

The game, will mark the second conference road game of the year for the Cajuns, and will be the opening game of a day/night, women’s/men’s doubleheader, with the UL men taking on Appalachian St. about 35 minutes following the women's tilt.

Louisiana, who fell to Troy, 60-55, in their conference home opener on Tuesday night, is 8-3, overall, and 0-2 in league play, while Appalachian St., who lost to Arkansas St., 89-75, on Saturday, is currently 5-5, and 0-1, respectively.

Following tonight's game, UL will play four of their next five at home.

The Cajuns are out-scoring the opposition, 61.1/57.0, while being out-shot by foes from the floor, 40.2%/37.0%, and out-rebounded 37.5/36.6.

Louisiana is paced by sophomore guard Jaylin Gordon, who leads the team in scoring, at 14.3 points-per-game, and junior guard Kia Wilridge, who is second on the team in scoring, rebounding, and assists at 12.5, 5.0, and 2.6, respectively.

The Mountaineers are being outscored by the opposition, 78.1/73.5, while out-shooting foes, 42.7%/42.6%, and being out-rebounded, 42.0/37.3.

Appalachian St. is paced by senior forward Maryah Sydnor, who is averaging 18.1 points, to go along with 7.8 rebounds a contest, and senior guard Katie Mallow, who is averaging 13.0 points and a team-high 2.5 rebounds-per-game.

This will be the first-ever match-up between the two squads.
