Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun women’s basketball team is back in action on Tuesday afternoon, when coach Garry Brodhead’s squad travels to Little Rock, Arkansas to take on the UALR Trojans in a  Sun Belt Conference affair.

Tip-off time is scheduled for 5:30 pm, and you can hear the game on ESPN 1420 & espn1420.com, beginning with the pregame show at 5:15 pm.

The game will mark the first conference game of the year for both squads.

Louisiana, who is 8-1 on the young season, is coming off of a 65-56 home win over Jackson St. back on Sunday, while UALR, who defeated Tulsa, 66-59, back on December 21, is currently 7-2.

The 8-1 start for Louisiana matches is one of the best in school history, besting a 7-2 start by the 1983-1984 squad

The Cajuns are outscoring the opposition, 64.0/55.6, and out-shooting foes from the floor, 39.2.%/38.7%, while also holding down a 37.1/35.8 rebounding edge.

UL is paced by sophomore guard Jaylin Gordon, who leads the team in scoring, at 15.1 points-per-game, and junior guard Kia Wilridge, who is second on the team in scoring, and second in rebounds, at 12.9, and 5.2, respectively.

The Trojans are being outscored by the opposition, 59.8/56.2, while out-shooting foes, 41.4%/39.4%, while being out-rebounded, 35.9/31.7.

UALR is paced by senior guard Taylor Gault, who is averaging 12.8 points, to go along with 2.2 rebounds a contest, and junior forward Shanity James, who is averaging 10.0 points and 6.0 rebounds-per-game.

UALR leads the all-time series, 15-8, and have won the last three contests.
