Sophomore forward Brooklyn Arceneux hit a bucket and a free throw with 5.1 seconds left, before Arkansas State's Jessica Flannery missed the second of two free throws with 0.1  seconds remaining, as Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun women's basketball team snapped an eight-game losing streak, defeating the Arkansas St. Red Wolves, 77-76, in Sun Belt Conference action at the Cajundome on Saturday.

Arkansas St. out-rebounded Louisiana, 41-30, but the Cajuns out-shot the Red Wolves from the floor, 53%-42%, as UL won for the first time since defeating South Alabama back on January 15.

Freshman Gabby Alexander led the way for Louisiana, pouring in a career-high 22 points, while Arceneaux scored 18 points, to go along with five rebounds.

In a losing cause for Arkansas St., Aundrea Gamble scored a game-high 24 points.

With the victory, the Cajuns improved to 11-13, overall, and 4-9 in conference play, while the Red Wolves fell to 16-9, and 10-3, respectively.

The Cajuns remain at home to close out this three-game homestand when Louisiana hosts Troy on Wednesday (Feb. 19) beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Cajundome.
