UL Women’s Basketball Travels To Take On Nebraska-Omaha
Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun women's basketball team puts their undefeated record on the line on Friday night, when coach Gary Brodhead's squad travels to Omaha, Nebraska, to take on the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks, in non-conference action.
Louisiana improved to 2-0 on the year on Monday evening, defeating LSU-Shreveport, 83-42, while Nebraska-Omaha opened their regular season on Monday evening, topping North Carolina A&T, 58-44, to open the year at 1-0.
The Cajuns are led by junior forward Ashley Benjamin, who is averaging 15.5 points, and 6.5 rebounds per outing, while Sylvana Okde is averaging 15.0 points a contest.
The Mavericks are paced by senior guard Paige Frauendorfer, who scored 15 points, and pulled down eight rebounds in the opener.
Louisiana defeated Nebraska-Omaha, a member of the Summit Conference, 62-60, last season at Earl K. Long Gym in the only other meeting between the two schools all-time.
