Louisiana Ragin' Cajun outfielder Haley Hayden is closing in on a school record.

The senior from Monroe has scored 233 runs during her career.

That's 10 behind the career leader, Nerissa Myers, who scored 243 runs between 2010-2013.

Remarkably consistent throughout her career with the Cajuns, Hayden scored 60 runs as a freshman, 66 as a sophomore, and 63 as a junior.

Through 38 games this season, Hayden has scored 44 runs.

Averaging just over one scored per game, and with 10 regular season games remaining, Hayden is on pace to set the new record before the start of postseason.

Keep in mind though; postseason stats also count, and with  UL playing an average of 9-and-a-half postseason games over the last two seasons, Hayden could score an additional 10 runs.

Barring injury, Hayden will surely end her career as the all-time school leader in runs scored.

This season, Hayden, a three-time All-Louisiana first team selection, is hitting a .390, the highest of her four seasons, to go along with 8 home runs and 40 runs batted in.

Playing on the same team with All-Americans such as Lexie Elkins, Aleah Craighton, Christina Hamilton, and Alex Stewart, along with DJ Sanders, who currently leads the nation in homers, the exploits of Hayden have flown under the radar a little bit. But the career mark that she is certain to set will validate Hayden as one of the best in program history.
