BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Swedish developer Skanska and joint venture partner MAPP Construction, a Baton Rouge-based construction firm, have secured the second piece of the state contract for the new University Medical Center in New Orleans. Skanska said the second portion of the contract is for $130 million and Skanska's share is $118 million.

The company said in a news release the contract includes a 258,330-square-foot ambulatory care facility and a 1,355-space parking garage. The hospital is expected to open in February 2015.

The University Medical Center will be a new, state-of-the-art academic Medical Care Campus. Major project components of the second increment of the contract include a 24,000 square meter ambulatory care facility and a 1,355 space parking garage.
