VATICAN CITY (AP) — A U.N. human rights committee is blasting the Vatican for policies that have allowed priests to rape and molest tens of thousands of children over decades.

The U.N. committee is also criticizing the Catholic hierarchy for its attitudes toward homosexuality, contraception and abortion, and says the church should review its policies to ensure children's rights and their access to health care are guaranteed.
