University Merger Nixed

The proposed merger of historically black Southern University at New Orleans and the University of New Orleans is apparently dead in the water for this legislative session. House Speaker Jim Tucker says the votes just aren't there to win passage of the proposal being pushed by Governor Bobby Jindal.
