Lafayette Parish schools announced that schools will be closed Monday, August 15th as residents continue to deal with flooding in the area. The official word comes from the district's Academic Specialist Randy Bernard:

All schools will be closed on Monday, August 15, to allow families to assess and recover from damages they may have sustained during these heavy rains.  The school district as well will need to assess facilities to make sure we are prepared to receive students.  Parents of Pre-K and kindergarten students who were scheduled for testing on Monday will receive further information on the rescheduling of their children.  Again, all Lafayette Parish public schools are closed on Monday, August 15.
