Update – DeQuincy Man Accused Of Brutally Raping Elderly Woman To Stand Trial In September

In an update to this story, the man accused of brutally raping a 94-year old woman in January of this year will stand trial in September.

Calcasieu Parish authorities say Gabe McKeel Jr. of Dequincy attacked the elderly woman with a knife, causing her to have a heart attack and putting her in the hospital.

McKeel was indicted March 1st on one count each of aggravated rape, aggravated burglary and second-degree battery. Fortunately, police say the woman was able to survive the attack.
