UPDATE: I-10 Detour Remains In Place, Open To Local Traffic (AUDIO)
Louisiana State Police Troop I spokesman Trooper Brooks David confirms to KPEL that the I-10 westbound detour remains in place. Drivers are being diverted at i-49 northbound to Opelousas. Then US 190 westbound to US 165. Drivers will re-enter the interstate in the Iowa area.
That detour applies to through traffic, but local drivers are able to use the interstate at this time. Trooper David warns that drivers will be forced to exit when they reach the flooding in the Crowley area.
For example, the roadway is open if you need to drive between North University and Ambassador Caffery exits. Follow updates on this website as the are constantly changing.
