Police Closing Westbound Lane Of I-10 After Crash

Lafayette Police have shut down the westbound lane of I-10 between Louisiana Avenue and I-49 while the tanker truck that crashed is being unloaded and removed. Crews have not given KPEL an estimated time of completion. All traffic on I-10 will be sent to Pont De Mouton towards I-49 from Louisiana Avenue.

Police believe the crash happened after a vehicle in front of the truck braked, causing the driver of the truck to swerve to the side of the road to avoid the collision and lost control.
