Update To Helicopter Crash In Morgan City

An update to this story.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The National Transportation Safety Board spokeswoman Bridget Serchak says that there was no indication that something broke off of the helicopter.

The crash took two lives, pilot Jason McKean and Lanny Ledet. Ledet was the manager of the  Golden Ranch Plantation for Cenac Marine Services of Houma. McKean was a pilot for Chet Morrison Contractors in Houma.

The NTSB is expected to released a preliminary report by next, but the full report could take as long as 18 months.
