Homework is for your children, but with so many parents trying to help their children, the Vermilion Parish School Board has launched a new program.

The program is a homework help program for parents.

Bring Your Own Device will teach parents how to use their own electronic products like IPod, IPhone or personal computers so that they can help their children in getting homework help and communicate with their students' teachers.

Marcil Seals, the district's classroom technology supervisor, says the idea came about from the Vermilion Parish chapter of the NAACP's interest in working with the district to close the technology gap in the community.

The first class will be held at Eaton Park Elementary on Wednesday, November 13.

While parents will be encouraged to bring their own devices, it's not a necessity as computers and other electronic products will be available for parents to use.
