Wednesday agents with the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics division arrested three people following a routine traffic stop.

Officers say when they asked 46-year-old driver Annette Derouen to step out of the car, she did so, and dropped suspected crack on the ground.

Agents say when one of their officers was approaching Derouen again, she flung something into the bed of the truck, which they say turned out to be crack.

Derouen was arrested and charged for the following:

  •  Possession with the intent to distribute cocaine
  • Resisting arrest

Two passengers were also detained and are facing charges.
