Vermilion Parish Homicide Task Force Works To Bring Criminals To Justice

Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon says, through a press release, that the first official meeting of the Vermilion Parish/City of Abbeville Major Crimes Task Force was held this week.

Couvillon says the following agencies are teaming up to catch people perpetrating crimes in the Vermilion Parish areas:

• Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office
• Abbeville Police Department
• Abbeville City Marshal's Office
• Federal Bureau of Investigation
• Louisiana State Police
• District Attorney's Office

Sheriff Couvillon says they are working on all crimes including unsolved homicides and violent crime in the City of Abbeville and across Vermilion Parish.

Couvillon adds,

"I want to thank all of the agencies involved in this effort for committing these professional men and women to this Task Force. It is our hope that we succeed in bringing those responsible for these violent crimes to justice."

He says their goal is to have a cohesive plan of action between agencies. They have specific goals and objectives for their work, and he knows they will be able to get the job done.
