Vermilion/Municipal Narcotics Task Force Makes Three Arrests
Task Force agents say they started investigating 24-year-old Hilton Stewart for allegedly selling marijuana after getting a tip about drug sales in the city of Kaplan.
Agents say they were able to arrange a place to meet with Stewart, and undercover operatives made contact with Stewart. He was arrested for distribution of marijuana, and possession with the intent to distribute marijuana. His bond was set at 27,500 dollars.
Earlier this month, agents say they come upon a drug deal going down in Abbeville. Agents arrested the person trying to buy the drugs, but the seller, 18-year-old Jaylin Veney fled the scene. On Monday, deputies located and arrested Veney. He was charged with distribution of cocaine and possession of marijuana. His bond was set at 26,000 dollars.
In another recent case, agents arrested 51-year-old Terry “Nick” Plowden of Abbeville after he allegedly sold crack cocaine to an undercover operative in Abbeville. He was arrested for two counts of distribution of cocaine. His bond was set at 45,000 dollars.
