Veteran's Day is being commemorated across the state to honor those who have served our country.

Thursday November 7th the Carencro Veterans Day Memorial Celebration takes place at the Carencro Community Center.  Patriotic music will be provided by the Carencro High School Band. Flags will be presented by the Lafayette Fire Department Color Guard.  Patriotic speakers will recognize military medal recipients and Purple Heart recipients.  For more information call Lee Verret at 337-456-6292.

On Monday November 11 the David Thibodeaux STEM Academy at 805 Teurlings Drive in Lafayette will hold their flag raising ceremony at 8:30am in conjunction with the Lafayette Young Marines.  The ceremony will be followed by coffee and refreshments.

Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery at 2111 W. Pinhook Road in Lafayette will present their annual Veteran's Day Ceremony at 3:00pm Monday November 11th.  The ceremony will be held at the Peace Chapel Mausoleum.  For more information call 337-235-3062.

Fountain Memorial Cemetery at 1010 Pandora Street in Lafayette will honor veterans in a ceremony at 9:00am Monday, November 11.  Participants will include Thomas Green, Commandant of the Marine Corps League of Lafayette, vocalist Beaux Fisher, Chaplain Father Keith Landry, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Assemblies, Knights of Peter Claver Assembly #3 and VFW Post 9822 Honor Guard.

On Monday November 11th veterans will be honored by the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana with a ceremony at the Avoyelles Veterans Monument on Highway One at 10:00am.  For more information call 1-800-946-1946 extension 2035.
