Victim Dies In Crash On I-10 In Lafayette

Around 11:20 last night, Lafayette Police were called out to the site of a fatal crash on Interstate 10 near mile marker 103.

The driver of an 18 wheeler that was westbound on the roadway says he felt something hit the back of his truck so he pulled over.

The driver pulled over to inspect the back of his rig when he found a 2012 Honda lodged beneath his trailer.

The victim, a 46-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the victim is still being withheld until they can notify the man's next of kin.

The driver of the 18 wheeler was not injured in the crash, and the cause of the accident is still being investigated.
