VIDALIA, La. (AP) — A Vidalia teenager suspected in the shooting death of his stepfather has been transported to a youth detention center outside of Baton Rouge.

The 14-year-old was arrested for alleged second-degree murder late Sunday night after he turned himself in to the Concordia Parish Sheriff's Office.

Chief Deputy David Hedrick told The Natchez Democrat said the teen has not been charged as an adult.

On Sunday, 37-year-old Terry Watson was shot once in the abdomen and once in the shoulder. Police say they believe a pistol was used but it has not been recovered.
