Vigilant Neigbors Get Burglary Suspects Busted

Vigilant neighbors are to thank for thwarting a a Jeff Davis Parish couple from getting away with  a residential burglary.

Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson said 28-year-old Charles Weaver and 40-year-old Erica Richard were arrested for burglary after breaking into a home on Ravey Lane in rural Acadia Parish.

Gibson said the homeowners were not home at the time of the break-in.

Neighbors were able to give a description of the couple's getaway vehicle, as well as, a physical description of the suspects.

Gibson said the pair of burglars may have been scouting for more locations to burglarize when deputies apprehended them.

“This is the kind of support that law enforcement needs to solve crime in our parish. Without the communities support, it is difficult to resolve crime issues”-- Sheriff K.P. Gibson.
