Ville Platte Man Dies In Early Morning Fire

An area man loses his life in an early morning fire.

The Louisiana Fire Marshal's Office says 51-year-old Irving Antoine of Ville Platte died when a home on West Hickory Street went up in flames around 2:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. One person did manage to escape without being injured.

Fire Marshal Butch Browning says there were no working smoke alarms found inside the home. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
