Ville Platte Woman Arrested On Murder Charges

A stabbing leaves one woman in the hospital and another behind bars.

Deputy Chief Varden Guillory with the Eunice Police Department says it happened at Joyce's Bar on East Maple Avenue on Saturday. Police say the victim, a 21-year-old woman from Mamou, suffered stab wounds to the neck and abdomen area which required immediate surgery.

Numerous witnesses gave a description of the female suspect and the suspect vehicle. Officers then learned that the suspect may be in the Mamou area where they were able to find 20-year-old Karla Lamb of Ville Platte and arrest her on second degree murder charges. Lamb sits in the Eunice City Jail without bond.

Police are also questioning witnesses to the alleged crime.
