Vinton Man Arrested For Four-Year-Old Crime

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office arrested a man this week that was wanted on a four-year-old warrant for theft at a business.

Back on August 25, 2011, deputies say surveillance footage shows 42-year-old Sylvester Hillery Jr. stealing over $1,000 of welding equipment from a business on Highway 182 in Amelia.

Detectives saw two men on the video go in and take the equipment.  One of the men in the case was arrested in October of 1011, while a warrant was out for Hillery Jr.

Hillery was taken into custody Wednesday by the St. James Parish Sheriff's office on the outstanding warrant, and he was transferred to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
