U.S. Senator David Vitter is upset with one fellow senator's reaction to the New Orleans Saints' bounty scandal.

Democratic Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois wants the Senate Judiciary Committee to determine whether bounty systems in pro sports should be made federal crimes. Vitter says that's "just goofy." He says he has not spoken with Senator Durbin, so he is not exactly sure what his colleague's motivation is. However, Vitter says the U.S. Senate has better things to do and that they should not get involved.

The NFL punished the Saints and Head Coach Sean Payton Thursday for organizing a bounty system that financially rewarded defensive players for taking out opposing players.
