At the polls Saturday, voters in Washington recalled the town's police chief Ronnell Broussard.

According to our news partner, KATC, Broussard has been on paid medical leave since February of 2015 when he said he was injured on the job.

More than 85 percent of the town's voters opted to recall Broussard; the final vote count was 243 for his recall and 44 against.

Voters are expecting to get an opportunity to elect Broussard's official successor by the end of the year.
