Food delivery is expected to be big business on Sunday as many will be gathering to watch the 49ers clash with the Chiefs for Super Bowl LIV.

Delivery service app Waitr spokesperson Dean Turcol says 1.3 billion chicken wings will be consumed this weekend, so it’s no surprise it’s historically the most ordered item in the app.

“Then following that, French fries, cheeseburgers, pizza, and then chips and cheese dip,” said Turcol.

Turcol says chicken nuggets, mozzarella sticks, quesadillas, chicken sandwiches, and salads also cracked the top ten.

“Basically nine out of the ten are finger foods that you can just serve for your friends and they grab it easy and you don’t have to bring out a lot of silverware,” said Turcol.

More than 100 million people are expected to tune into the game. Turcol recommends getting your order in early and expects most of the orders to come in during the pregame and at half time.

Waitr is doubling its delivery staff for Sunday.

“We want to make sure that if everyone orders, they’re going to get their food pretty quickly and that’s why we’ve got extra staff on for Super Bowl Sunday,” said Turcol.

Super Bowl Sunday is one of America’s biggest eating holidays, second only to Thanksgiving.
